Seaside Micro-Wedding | Misselwood at Endicott College in Beverly, MA

December 30, 2020

When I first chatted with Victoria and Alex about wedding photography for their summer wedding at Misselwood, I suggested meeting up for coffee to get to know each other. They said, “how about a beer instead”? I knew then we were going to get along. We met up at Matt Murphy’s Pub in Brookline, MA for a cosy drink, and I knew immediately they were going to throw an amazing party. They were all set to get married at the beautiful Misselwood Events at Endicott College in August of 2020… and then Covid happened. In April of 2020, they made the difficult decision to postpone to 2021. Victoria still expressed the strong desire to elope and capture some wedding portraits with a small vow-exchange on their original date, and to postpone the big party to 2021. More than anything I was stuck by their desire to have a first dance, just the two of them.

The day inched closer and a gorgeous summer day was on the forecast! All the ladies got ready at the Beauport Hotel in Gloucester, MA (another GORGEOUS wedding venue right on the ocean)! The Veuve Clicquot was poppin’ (and maybe a *wee* bit was spilled on the bride’s head), and Victoria’s sister masterfully applied the makeup.

Their gorgeous elopement went off without a hitch and they slow-danced after a breathtaking sunset. I saw an incredible gradient purple sky over the cliffy beaches of Beverly and quickly pulled over and waved down Victoria and Alex as they departed for their family dinner. We scrambled down the rocks, and ended the day running around barefoot on the beach. 2020 has been a doozy, but I am so appreciative of all these amazing memories that have been made from it!
