Classic And Glamorous Wedding With A Manhattan Skyline View | Battello in Jersey City, NJ

The pandemic may have forced Glenna & Tayo to delay their nuptials the first time around, but this couple could not have been more easygoing. Their classic and glamorous spring wedding was held in Jersey City, New Jersey, a day filled with boisterous loved ones, understated details and abiding romance.

Before the ceremony, Tayo incorporated his Nigerian roots into the celebrations with a traditional engagement party. His friends kept that energy going for the main event as G&T prepared just a hop across the street from their wedding venue. The couple exchanged bracelets, a sentimental complement to Tayo’s white tuxedo and Glenna’s dazzling headpiece.

Jersey City’s Battello set the perfect stage for a modern ceremony with a view of the Manhattan skyline, while G & T brought plenty of warmth and class to the space with cozy candlelight, rustic touches and greenery draped with plush roses, eucalyptus, ferns and evergreens. A gilded statuette of G & T’s French bulldog welcomed guests in.

Tayo opted out of a private first look of the bride in favor of watching Glenna’s entrance along with the wedding guests. She descended down the central staircase, igniting a priceless grin on Tayo’s face. After recounting the story of their first date – is there anything more undeniable than the chemistry of natural, hours-long conversation? – G & T shared their first kiss as husband and wife.

They took the time to retreat outside and revel in the moment together, where we took couple’s photos under a golden-hour sun. The light created a pristine city backdrop and illuminated Glenna’s veil for a sophisticated portrait before heading back in for their first dance. On a navy blue night, the couple, their family and their friends danced, gave speeches and celebrated with plenty of tears and even more laughter.

It was all capped off with a shot of tequila at the end of the evening. Is there a better way to close out a timeless city wedding? Of course not.
