Lauren & Sean scrapped their larger 2020 Rosecliff Mansion wedding in Newport, RI in favor of an intimate backyard celebration in Lauren’s parent’s home in Bonnet Shores. Everyone got ready at an AirBNB near downtown Newport on a sunny September Day. The Dom Perignon was flowing, and when the gorgeous florals from Wild Season Florals arrived, I knew this was not your average rustic, backyard affair.
After an emotional first look, we opted for couple’s portraits at the beautiful campus at Salve Regina University. We ran around the grounds, and Sean graced us with some of his epic air guitar moves! We only had 15 minutes for wedding photos before racing to Bonnet Shores for the beach ceremony.
The ceremony was simply perfect – sunny with a beautiful ocean breeze coming from Narragansett Bay! Tearful guests enjoyed their personal vows, and their 15 year old chihuahua Nacho anxiously awaited to join his human parents for the party.
Luckily for L & S, their friend owns 401 Oyster Company, so the fresh oysters and clams were flowing at cocktail hour alongside lobster rolls and crabcakes (can we bring back summer already)?? The guest ambled barefoot the few blocks back to the house, and the night slowed into the first dance and a romantic dinner under the stars. Covid, you suck, but who needs a 250 person wedding when you can have a few of your nearest and dearest together to celebrate YOU!
